Books
Subject Headings
For single concept searches, for example, dairy barns, use the basic search option in the
Morrisville College Library online catalog and select the "Keyword(s)in subject" option from the Search Type menu. If the concept is expressed as a phrase (two or more words), be sure to select the "Words Adjacent" option located below the search box.
For searches that involve two or more concepts, for example, dairy cattle and breeding, use the advanced search option. Use a separate search box for each search term and select the "Keyword(s)in subject" option from the Search Type menu for each search term.
In the search term table, narrower or more specific search terms are listed after many of the more general or broader terms. The narrower terms are preceded by two or three dots. To conduct a search for books on narrower topics, use the advanced search option and include the broader term in one search box and narrower term in a second search box. Select the "Keyword(s)in subject" option from the Search Type menu for each search term.
